‘Brave New World’ NFT Book Lets Users Own A Piece Of Literary History

The publishers of the Sci-Fi book “Brave New World” said that the popular book will soon be transformed into nonfungible tokens (NFTs). The Algorand Foundation and Book.io are partnering to introduce 10,000 eBooks of Aldous Huxley’s classic to the blockchain. What is known about the “Brave New World” NFTs?

This means that Aldous Huxley’s most famous book will soon enter a brave new world of its own – nonfungible tokens.

‘Brave New World’ NFTs Overview

Consensus 2023 attendees got vouchers with free redemption codes to own one of the 10,000 eBooks. Each of these NFTs consists of one of 500 different covers that are designed by artificial intelligence (AI) artists. As an extra layer, these covers come in various rarities, allowing the collectors to buy their favorite pieces.

The collection is set to launch on the Algorand blockchain. The layer 1 chain is synonymous with huge volume capacity and near-zero transaction fees.

Ben Illian, Book.io Co-Founder, said:

“Algorand is a partner who shares our ethos. At Book.io, we believe that books should be unchangeable, immutable, and live forever across borders. We chose Algorand because of its scalability, minimal transaction fees, and near-zero carbon footprint.  We want the whole world to be able to own their digital assets and digital books, making it impossible for central authorities to ban or censor books at their discretion.”

Notably, Huxley fans can now readily purchase NFTs of his most famous work.

What is Book.io?

Book.io is a new type of eBook retailer. The firm created a technology known as “decentralized encrypted assets” that enables digital assets like NFTs to thrive entirely on blockchain. By doing that, Book.io clients do not have to depend on centralized servers or intermediaries to view their media. Moreover, the technology encrypts these books so that just the eBook owners can see their materials.

The firm believes strongly in the ethos of crypto. The choice of Huxley’s “Brave New World” is great and is not a coincidence. This dystopian novel paints a chilling portrait of what the future might look like – a world where citizens live under nearly complete government control.

Unsurprisingly, “Brave New World’ ranks among the most banned books in history. By minting these 10,000 digital copies of the book on the blockchain, Book.io is helping to ensure that its message will not be lost in the future.
