FIFA To Unleash NFT Collection To Secure World Cup Tickets

World football governing body, FIFA NFT Collection on Polygon which can essentially grant access to the Club World Cup final is scheduled to drop soon.

Based on the latest announcement, FIFA will launch a Non-fungible token (NFT) collection meant for FIFA Club World Cup Saudi Arabia 2023™ in partnership with a blockchain-inclined technology company called Modex.

FIFA Develops World Cup Tickets For NFT Holders

The new development comes in the wake of Modex taking on the strategic management of FIFA+ Collect, the football governing body’s ‘arsenal’ of exclusive digital collectibles that show some of the most iconic moments of players.

FIFA insists that the first drop will feature a collection of 100 digital collectibles that will be released on December 15. Early investors and holders of the first release stand the chance of winning a ticket to the FIFA World Cup 26™ final.

A batch of 900 NFTs will soon be released on the Polygon scaling network, accessible through OpenSea’s NFT marketplace. The launch is set for December 19, coinciding with the peak of the FIFA Club World Cup. These NFTs will showcase memorable moments from the tournament.

Notably, the FIFA NFT collection was originally minted on Algorand but the football governing body has now decided to move the collection to the robust Polygon blockchain, a pattern that seems to be becoming rampant in the blockchain sector.

Trending Network Migration To Polygon

Most recently, most crypto-related projects have been seen moving from one network to the next, spurring some competition among the followers of these blockchains. That contributed to a warning issued by Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko to cryptocurrency users who are trying to exalt their network of choice at the expense of another network.

FIFA’s decision to use the Polygon network is not surprising seeing that the ETH scaling blockchain has proven over time to embody the capacity to deliver the users’ needs. Apart from the forthcoming incorporation with FIFA, Polygon has entered specific strategic partnerships that have enhanced the trajectory of the platform.

A week ago, crypto exchange OKX hinted at its plans to pursue Web 3.0 services across India. The feat, it intends to achieve in alliance with Polygon, citing its ability to boost utility for Web3.0 natives.

Indian e-commerce firm Flipkart is also pulling resources into incorporating Polygon’s CDK-deployed Layer 2 chain to enhance FireDrops, its recently introduced Web3.0 loyalty program. It suggests that Polygon has successfully imprinted its legacy deep into most of these crypto projects.
