The inaugural Metaverse Architecture Biennale is scheduled to kick off in Decentraland, running from September 21 to 24. This event, co-organized by Dearch Space, W3rlds, and Metancy, aims to seamlessly merge the innovative aspects of architecture with the rapidly advancing Web3 landscape.
With a commitment to showcasing the transformative possibilities that arise when architectural excellence converges with digital technology, the organizers have put together a diverse program for participants. Centered on the theme “Presence of the Future,” attendees can look forward to an immersive experience featuring more than 30 digital structures crafted by architects from around the world.

The Futuristic Architectural World
Throughout this four-day event, attendees can anticipate an array of musical performances, lively parties, and thought-provoking panel discussions. The objective of the event is to provide a comprehensive window into the futuristic realm of architecture.
Furthermore, the organizers extend an open invitation to all, encouraging individuals to participate in this groundbreaking journey of observing the evolution of architecture within a digitally dominant landscape.
Drawing inspiration from renowned platforms like the Venice Biennale and Expo, the event offers a fusion of virtual pavilions and realms. Some notable pioneers in the realm of digital design who are contributing to the event include Killa Design, LAVA, and ATRIUM, among others.
Additionally, 17 participants were selected through an open call to showcase their projects, standing alongside architects who were personally invited by the curators.
The Involved Experience And Technical Aspects
The Biennale doesn’t limit itself to Decentraland; it also expands its footprint to the W3rlds platform. The distinctive structure of the event accommodates more than sixty meticulously crafted spaces, where each architect designs an installation for both platforms.
This setup fosters an interactive and dynamic experience, allowing attendees to seamlessly teleport between platforms and engage with a diverse array of exhibits and a global community of creators.
In terms of its program, the event is set to provide a broad spectrum of activities, encompassing opening and closing ceremonies, an Architecture Carnival, and an assortment of cultural and entertainment events. Esteemed representatives from companies such as Zaha Hadid Architects and UN Studio will be part of the event, adding their insights to discussions on significant subjects.
These discussions will delve into topics like the emergence of digital fashion, the dynamics of Web3 and the Metaverse business landscape.
To guarantee an enhanced experience, participants are strongly advised to utilize the Decentraland Desktop app, which guarantees superior graphics and a more reliable connection compared to browser access. The Decentraland platform, constructed on the Ethereum blockchain, provides a platform for crafting and trading digital assets, encompassing virtual land and wearable items, thus providing a diverse landscape for exploration and social interaction.
