Ukrainian Patriots Launches Charitable NFT “ArtWARks” To Amass Funds For Army

On March 10, 2022, a team of Ukrainian patriots announced the successful launch of charitable non-fungible token (NFTs) collections dubbed “ArtWARks” aimed at amassing funds to help Ukrainian defense forces and war frontiers amid the escalating offensive Russian invasions.

Ukrainian patriots unleashed initial 57 ArtWARks on the leading non-fungible tokens (NFTs) marketplace OpenSea, pledging to increase more variety of artists until the ongoing Russian invasions stop. The ArtWARks NFT debut is a collective effort of the broader crypto community to end the geopolitics war in Ukraine.

NFT donation to help Ukraine war victims

According to the development team, the collection was inspired heavily by the long history between Russia and neighboring Ukraine. The two nations entered an unnecessary geopolitical war in 2014 after the sovereign republic of Russia successfully annexed the Crimea region on the Western part of Ukraine.

At the time, the annexation put Russia in control of Crimea, the move that Ukrainians have repeatedly described as an incursion on their sovereignty. The diplomatic woes deteriorated recently after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a military operation to demilitarize Ukraine.

Unfortunately, the desperate need to defend its territories birthed a war that has never happened in years within the region. Ukraine patriots, some of whom are eyewitnesses, intend to use non-fungible token artworks to share stories of the ongoing offensive Russian invasions.

The development team will continue to unleash collections as more eyewitnesses share their stories. As a collection, the ArtWARks collection is designed and expected to continue to host additions as more eyewitnesses decide to open up and tell their stories. The unveiling of the ArtWARks NFT Collection is hence believed to be a complement to the collective efforts of the wider cryptocurrency community.

ArtWARks NFT Proceeds Proposed Use

According to the artWARks development team, all generated proceeds will go towards Ukrainian residents through Come Alive Foundation. The foundation is an accredited non-profit organization (NGO) dedicated to disseminating reliable information to fade all forms of fear to Ukraine residents.

The issue of donating proceeds from digital assets is not a new occurrence in the current world, mostly as the cryptocurrency community has shown solidarity to Ukraine. Crypto investors have already donated all forms of digital assets to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that are currently operating in the country to help the victims of the ongoing war.

In the meantime, the Ukrainian government has already received more than $55 million in donations since it started soliciting charitable funds in digital assets. The Ukrainian government continues receiving the non-fungible token donations from many people and notable firms around the globe, including the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection.

Ukraine vs Russia

While BAYC NFT collection was amongst the significant donors, several NFTs have also been sent to the official Ethereum address that was set up by the Ukrainian Government. Hence, the debut of the ArtWARks NFT Collection is a welcomed complement to the collective efforts of the general crypto community.

From these acts of charity, it is evident that cryptos, NFTs, and other digital assets are finding beneficial use cases in the physical world. However, some regulators believe that the virtual assets need to be regulated to ensure that Russia does not get any financial help through the same method.
